PRotOK d.o.o. was selected in a public tender as the best contractor for the implementation of a technical information system in Vodovod Dubrovnik. Our obligation is to produce a technical information system for waterworks and drainage, which implies installation of PRoGIS software and initial filling of spatial databases. We also obligate ourselves to link with the existing business information system and prepare bid specifications for subsequent geodesic imaging. We expect to realize our obligations by the end of 2005.

The new PRoGIS module for recording defects in the water supply system is in its final testing stages. All DVGW recommendations and requirements of the KANEW software have been integrated into it. The existing record of malfunctions in Vodoopskrba i Odvodnja (Water Supply and Drainage) Zagreb with over 80.000 records was used for testing the software logic. It went on sale in August this year.

Brežice d.d. municipal residential services company entrusted us with the development of its technical information system. At the moment, this covers waterworks and drainage for the Brežice municipality and a great number of smaller neighbouring districts.

TV inspection PRoKanal module is used in Vodoopskrba i Odvodnja Zagreb. The module is used for GIS recording of all defects in the drainage system. Due to users who perform drainage recordings with a camera on cheap equipment and offer their services in the market, currently the module has the added functionality of preparing reports even when a GIS of the drainage system does not exist as a base (only distance markers measured by the camera itself exist).

The agreed PRoGIS software for waterworks was installed in the “Infrastruktura” Bled municipal services company and the data from the main network and connections was initially entered. We have yet to carry out our obligations relating to waste disposal and linkage with the business information system. The linkage will be permanent and will enable analysis of data from the business information system through GIS software.

Improvements are almost constantly being made to the PRoGIS Basic module. Most of the work is on improving its speed. Regeneration of windows containing spatial data is faster. Rendering is now truly impressive. Table operations have been introduced and tested on layers with over 100.000 records. Response time is very good even on tables this large.

The bugs with printing in the new version have been corrected finally (thin lines, incorrect text positioning,….) Sorry!

“Ponikve” Krk signed a contract for upgrading their PRoGIS Geodesic and Basic module licences. Warehouse module is being introduced into the business information system. The information system also includes colour ortophoto images of the whole island.

We finished the project of "Supplementing and correction of the existing GIS database for the water supply system in the City of Zagreb, Samobor, Sveta Nedjelja and Sesvete" for "VIO" Zagreb. We entered approximately 500 km of the recently recorded network archived in some 800 DWG drawings into the database. We again compared the digital data for approx. 2400 km of the network with drawings M1:1000 (over 800 pages) and M 1:5000 (over 130 pages) and delivered a well-organised state. In the meantime, around 400 km of unrecorded connections were recorded in Zagreb. When this is also entered into the system, the data for Zagreb will be at a very high level (extent and quality).

As part of the "Integral project task for optimal improvement of the City of Zagreb water supply system ", ProtOK simultaneously provided the information technology, GIS support for linking the business information system, GIS and Heastad Methods software for hydraulic modelling. The data relating to the water supply system was transferred into the hydraulic model. For the first time an estimate of the load (usage) was also based on GIS. Based on their address, all users were placed spatially, then in relation to the nearest node in the water supply system and then to a node in the mathematical model. This procedure implied processing of around 112.000 measuring sites.

Celje Waterworks and Drainage also purchased the Longitudinal Profile module for all its PRoGIS Basic module licences.
